Government Spending

For too long, out-of-touch career politicians have been spending money we don't have in Madison. It's time to take back our government and return to a system that is fiscally sane and sustainable. We need a government that does more with less and representatives who are willing to hold the line on spending.

In the last budget, Governor Doyle increased spending by 10% in the worst recession in generations, increased taxes by $5 billion, and accepted $3.45 billion in federal stimulus money. After spending all that taxpayer money, Wisconsin's projected budget deficit is STILL $2.7 billion. That's irresponsible.

Families and small business owners are struggling to make ends meet and teh government reaching into our pocketbooks time after time isn't the answer.

In the past two years, I have done everything I could to control government spending because I know that the government can't spend your money more wisely than you do. In fact, one of the first things I did when taking office was to give back approximately $4,000 of my salary.

If you choose to return me to Madison as your state representative, I will continue my fight to ensure that government spending does not exceed oura bility to pay and that our tax dollars are not wasted by out-of-touch career politicians.
